Margaret Mary (Brimeyer) Huber passed away on February 16, 2024, at Stonehill Care Center. Marge suffered from heart disease and dementia. She was born on July 22, 1942, in Balltown, IA, to Alphonse and Elenora (Hansen) Brimeyer. On September 14, 1963, she married Ronald J. Huber at Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Dubuque. He preceded her in death on December 25, 2015.

Mass of Christian Burial for Margaret will be at 10:30 am on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at the Church of the Resurrection. Burial will be at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Dubuque. Friends may greet the family from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Monday, February 19, 2024, at Hoffmann Schneider & Kitchen Funeral Home, 3860 Asbury Road, Dubuque, where a prayer service will be at 7:00 pm.

Margaret graduated from Wahlert High School in 1960 and attended NICC. She valued a strong work ethic and lived a life of service in the Dubuque community. She enjoyed many part-time jobs, and her most meaningful professional work was helping those experiencing poverty find suitable housing through the regional council of government, East Central Intergovernmental Association.

Marge and Ron were proud pioneers of the Teens Encounter Christ and Christian Experience Weekends, helping to bring the love of Christ to so many. Marge selflessly gave her time, talent, and treasure to various causes, including her favorites, the Shalom Retreat Center and Maria House.

Beyond her charitable endeavors, she embraced life’s adventures, traveling the globe with her beloved Ron and exploring Australia, Europe, Hawaii, and every corner of the United States.

Yet, her most cherished moments were spent with her children and grandchildren in the warmth of her home. She deeply knew each of us and had a knack for finding unique personalized gifts to celebrate our life milestones.

While Marge had many accomplishments in life, what mattered most to her was her family and friends. Her caring manner and welcoming spirit immediately touched all who knew her. Marge led with her heart and was a champion of all who entered her circle. Her unique ability was to speak her mind with pointedness and grace. Marge was charming, entertaining, and loving, all jumbled up in a single form. Her grandchildren loved her frank and, at times, direct demeanor and found so much joy just being in her presence. She was an amazing talker but knew when it was time to walk the walk. To know her was to love her.

Marge’s departure leaves a void in the hearts of family and friends, but the life lessons she taught will forever be etched in our minds. Her graceful spirit will continue to inspire us to live with the same passion, love, and grand determination.

Survivors include her four children, Joleen (James) Jansen of Elkader, IA; Mark (Peggy) Huber of Fitchburg, WI; Daniel (Shawn) Huber of Bettendorf, IA; and Katie (Matthew) George of Olathe, KS; eleven grandchildren, Jessica (Alex) Jacobson, Jacob (Annie Flanagan) Jansen, Jenna (Gabriel Varney) Jansen, Noah Huber, Justin Huber, Adelyn (Joel) Rich, Allyson Huber, Celia Huber, Braeden George, Calen George, and Austen George; one great-grandchild, Violet Jo Jacobson, with baby Rich due in March; in-laws, Evie Brimeyer, Jane Brimeyer, Doris Huber, Mary Huber, Bob and Trish Huber, Maryelle Parades, Randy and Jane Huber, and; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by six brothers, Robert (Lucille), Lester, Vince (Alice), Willard (Rita), Francis, and Ralph Brimeyer, and brothers and sisters-in-law, Wayne Huber, Richard Huber, and Bonnie (Richard) Dee.

In lieu of flowers, Marge’s family requests that donations be made to Stonehill Care Center and Hospice of Dubuque.

The family would like to extend a special Thank You to the Stonehill Care Center team, especially the beautiful souls who work and live in the Memory Household. Their love and devotion in Marge’s last years will always be treasured.
