Marilyn Jean Nothstine, 92, of Baldwin, Iowa, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday morning, September 19, 2023.

Marilyn was born on December 28, 1930 to Mildred and LaVerne Willey.  She graduated from Baldwin High School in 1948.  She always wanted to be a nurse and received her RN nursing degree from the University of Iowa.  Marilyn started her 20-year nursing career in Iowa City, Iowa, then Oregon, Michigan, and lastly back home in Maquoketa, Iowa. 

She married Heber Nothstine II on August 8, 1958 in Traverse City, Michigan, and shortly thereafter they moved back to Iowa where they took over the family farm.  They raised two children, a daughter Renee, and a son, Heber III. 

Marilyn was an avid fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes and enjoyed going out to eat with friends.

Those left to honor her memory include a daughter, Renee Bennett, and a son, Heber Nothstine III.  She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Duane and Donn Willey, and her husband Heber Nothstine II.

Public Graveside Services and Burial celebrating Marilyn’s life will be held at 11 A.M., Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at Pence Cemetery, rural Baldwin, Iowa.  There is no public visitation.  The Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa is caring for the family.

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorials may be directed to Hospice of Jackson County.
