Marilyn J. Streets
Marilyn J. Streets, 80, of E. Moline, Illinois, and formerly of Clinton, and Maquoketa, passed away on Friday, May 24, 2024, at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf, Iowa.
Marilyn Joan Pestka was born on September 11, 1943 in Clinton, Iowa, to Edward Joseph and Bernadine Evelyn (Mangelsen) Pestka. She was a graduate of Goose Lake High School. She married Sanford Streets on January 14, 1967 in Low Moor, Iowa.
Marilyn had worked as a nurse’s aide for Mercy Hospital in Clinton for 15 years, and then upon moving to Maquoketa worked as a home healthcare provider for 15 years.
Marilyn enjoyed camping, fishing, gambling, playing bingo and cards, and her dogs. She especially loved her children and grandchildren.
Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Sanford Streets of East Moline, IL; children, Steve (Roxanne) Streets of Wyoming, IA, Deb Current of Maquoketa, IA, John Kohl of Clinton, IA, Debbie (Robi) Chowdhuri of Atchison, KS, Steve Kohl of Clinton, IA, and Bart (Jamie) Streets of Andalusia, IL; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Jerry Pestka, sister Judy Pray, and 4 children, Brent Streets, David Streets, Lynette Escamilla, and Valerie Fadale.
A graveside service and burial celebrating Marilyn’s life will be held at 11:30 A.M., Friday, May 31, 2024, at East Iron Hill Cemetery, rural Maquoketa. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 9:30 A.M. to 11 A.M., at Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa. A luncheon will be held immediately following the ceremony at Timber Lanes in Maquoketa.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a Marilyn J. Streets Memorial Fund has been established.
