Mark J.  Biermann, 76, of Dubuque, Iowa and formerly of Epworth, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, May 6, 2026 Initiative Care Center in Dubuque, Iowa, surrounded by his family.

Visitation for Mark will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., on Monday, May 11, 2026, at the Reiff Funeral Home in Epworth, Iowa.  Burial will be held at a later date.

He was born on March 8, 1950 in Dyersville, Iowa, one of twins to Raymond and Dorothy (Ries) Biermann.

He was employed as a Hair-dresser, he then worked at the Saddle Shop in Iowa Falls and traveled to Horse Shows all over.  He later worked at Sears in Des Moines, Iowa.  He then moved to Branson, and then returned to Dubuque where he was employed at Hartig Drug.

He was a very independent personality, he had a very quiet demeanor.  He enjoyed reading and drawing.  He used to enjoy horseback riding.

He is survived by his siblings, Don (Janet) Biermann of Dubuque, IA, LeRoy (Shirley) Biermann Peosta, IA, Kenny Biermann of Farley, IA, Paul (Kathy) Biermann of Epworth, IA and his twin Marilyn Hawkins of Cascade, IA.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his brothers and sisters-in-law, David and Doris Biermann, Robert and LaVonne Biermann, Donna Biermann, and Dave Hawkins.
