Mary Ann Ginter

Mary Ann Ginter, 90, of Dubuque, IA. passed away Tuesday October 10, 2023 at Luther Manor in Dubuque.

Visitation will be held 9 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday October 14, 2023, at St. Joseph the Worker in Dubuque. A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Brian Dellaert officiating. A private burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Leonard Funeral Home and Crematory is assisting the family.

Mary was born October 19, 1932, in Dubuque to Harold and Leona (Kortemeyer) Specht. She graduated from The Visitation in Dubuque.

She married the love of her life Vincent A. on May 5, 1951. He preceded her in death in 2010.

Mary was a homemaker, a member of the Mississippi Hiking Club, Catholic Mother’s Club. She was one of the original board members of Galena Territory Association. She and Vince enjoyed their winters in Meza AZ. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughters, Gail (Joe) Mond, Jan Ginter, Kay (Jeffery) Slade, Theresa (Klint Banfield) Rohrs, Rachel (Jeff) Allen; her grandchildren, Eric (Jennifer) Mond, Eben (Darcee) Mond, Leah (Keith) Hoffmann, Dylan Rohrs, Michael (Lexi) Allen, Mitchell (Abbie) Allen, Molly (Mason Henning) Allen; great-grandchildren, Madison Mond, Huxley, Wilder, and Raven Mond, Rylee Hoffmann, Hendrix, Nixon, and Daxon Rohrs; brother-in-law, Thomas Pfiffner.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents, and in-laws Philipp and Stella Ginter; great grandson Beau Hoffmann; sister Margaret (Elroy) Petsche; siblings in-law Joe (Donna) Ginter, Priscilla (Ed) Bahl, Maleta Dietz, and Irma Pfiffner.

The family would like to express a special thanks to the staff at Luther Manor, especially Kim and Preston for all their wonderful care.

In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established.
