Mary Jane was a remarkable woman who has left a legacy of kindness, love, and generosity that will stand the test of time. She was born on February 10, 1936, in Grantsburg, Wisconsin, daughter of Stanley and Carmen (Britton) Mattson.

Mary Jane was a loving and devoted spouse, parent, and friend. She married Kenneth Stotlar on October 27, 1962, creating a beautiful and loving union that spanned 25 years until Kenneth’s passing in June of 1988. Together they raised seven children who will remember her as the guiding light in their lives.

Mary Jane’s professional life was spent working in retail. She was blessed to have worked alongside her best friend Rosie Ries at Woolsworth from 1976 until its closing. Mary Jane again found work with close friends George and Suzie Roby at Sibbings Jewelry as a saleswoman. After the Roby’s retired, Mary Jane was blessed once more. This time being professionally reunited with her best friend Rosie at Hillcrest where she worked until her retirement. She was an invaluable worker that was always dedicated to her work, and was thought of highly by everyone that worked with her.

Her kindness and generosity knew no bounds. She was a pillar of strength and support for family and friends, always offering a helping hand or a listening ear. Her ability to make others smile will never be forgotten.

She enjoyed watching any sports that were on and cheering on her favorite teams. She was also an avid bowler.

Mary Jane’s passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew her. Her contributions, both personally and professionally, have left and incredible mark on our community. She will be sorely missed, and her memory will remain forever cherished.
