Mary Louise Love, 90, of Dubuque, Iowa passed away on May 23rd, 2024 at home.

Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 30th, 2024 at Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. with Deacon David Roth Officiating. Entombment will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery. Please join us and share your happy memories with us.

Mary Louise Love was born on October 11, 1933, to a family of 5 daughters and 5 sons. She was raised in Mason City Iowa until she was married, gave birth to 3 children – Patricia, Thomas, and Marie – and moved her family to Dubuque. She was remarried to Phillip Love and together they raised her 2 stepchildren, Kevin and Kathy. Phil and Mary would run the Finale Lounge for many years until they opened the Lounge across from Five Flags and became owner/ operators for 36 years, until they eventually sold it and retired.

She is survived by her children Marie, Kevin, and Kathy. She is also survived by her three brothers, Ralph, ED, and Jimmy. Mary’s legacy includes 13 grandchildren, 19 plus great grandchildren, and 4+ great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Phil, her daughter Patricia, and her son TC “Thomas.”

Mary lived an extraordinary life of kindness and generosity with a work ethic second to none. She spent many years putting her entire self into making the Lounge a safe and wonderful place to spend time with friends and family. She would go to great lengths to make all who came into her world feel welcome, and that they belonged. You will not have to go far to find someone that has a wonderful story and great memories of the Christmas parties, football pools, or the incredible quesadillas that she would make every year during all that Jazz.  The Loss of Mary will be felt by many, leaving a tremendous void in the hearts of those that knew and loved her. Her Shoes will forever be left unfilled.
