Mary Lou was born on March 12, 1946, in Providence, RI, the daughter of Everett L. and Mary L. (Sanger) Brown. On October 15, 1966, she married Donald Jaeger at St. Catherine’s Church in Dubuque.

Mary Lou graduated from Dubuque Senior High School in 1964. She worked in the accounting department at Martin-Berch and later as a payroll clerk for Trausch and Metz Baking until her retirement in 1994.

Mary Lou was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church where she volunteered as a greeter and she also had taught Sunday School at Lord of Life Church. In her free time she enjoyed sewing, crafting, baking, and reading. She loved shopping and was an avid collector of Precious Moments figurines. She was also involved with Girl Scouts. Some of her favorite memories were the vacations she shared with her husband, Donald. More than anything, Mary Lou cherished the time she spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild.

Survivors include her loving husband, Donald of Asbury; three children, Duane Jaeger of Dubuque, Dale Jaeger of Holy Cross, and Deborah (Jeff) Wilson of Dubuque; two grandchildren, Jacob (Hillary) Wilson and Hailey Wilson; one great-granddaughter, Lillian Wilson; one brother, Russ Brown; sister-in-law, Karen Brown; brother-in-law, Daniel (Jeannie) Jaeger; nephew, John (Becky) Jaeger; and niece, Lisa Jaeger.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Dan Brown; mother-and father-in-law, Donald and Jeanette Jaeger; and one sister-in-law, Laurie Haun.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.

Mary Lou’s family would like to extend a special Thank You to the staff in the Stonehill memory care unit, and Hospice of Dubuque, especially Chris for their care and support.
