Michael Ardouin, also known as “Ardy Michaels”, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, October 3, 2023. There will be a celebration of life later. The Furlong Funeral Chapel, Galena is assisting the family.

Ardy was a true Renaissance man. In his 70 years, he would pull a car engine, build a house, and write songs and stories and music to make them come alive. He was always there to lend a hand. Ardy was a well-traveled man, living in Wisconsin, Alabama, California, Nevada, Arizona, and finally settling here in Galena. He often said how much he enjoyed living in a small town and meeting the people who lived there.

Ardy is survived by his wife, Kay, brother-in-law, James Edmond, son John Paul, daughter Amanda, and her family, two sisters-in-law, Mary Hoy, and LuAnn (Vince) Bafico, brother-in-law, Terry (Paula) Outcalt, and his many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Cindy Edmond, and a brother-in-law, John Outcalt. 

He will be missed and remembered fondly, especially by his constant companion his fur buddy Bailey.
