Nancy A. Rink
Nancy Ann (Legler) Rink, 86 passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at Stonehill Health Center of Dubuque. Nancy was born on June 22, 1939, to Norma Marie (Johns) and Nicholas JosephLegler of Dubuque, where she was raised and lived her entire life.
She attended Nativity Grade School and graduated from Visitation Academy in 1957. Nancy went on to work at Stampfer’s Department Store, then became a full-time homemaker raising her children, and finished her working career at the Hoffman House Restaurant as a Hostess and Morning Manager for thirty years.
For the last sixty years, Nancy was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church and was active in St. Anthony’s Rosary Society, St. Bernadette’s Circle, and volunteered as a Eucharistic Minister and Lector over the years. She enjoyed golfing, bowling, traveling with Americlub Travel Services, and Tri-State Travel, which included many destinations to places like New York City, Branson, and several trips out West.
Nancy is survived by her husband of nearly sixty-seven years; Thomas Richard Rink and they were married at St. Joseph the Workers Church in 1959. She also survived by her three beloved sons Rich (Kim), Greg (Usha), and Tim (April); her grandchildren Bailey (Amy) Rink, Riya Rink, Nora Rink; her great grandson Crew Rink; and step-grandkids, Emily, Jimmy, Austin, and Amber. She was preceded in death by her parents, Nick and Norma Legler, and in-laws, Dick and Jean Rink.
Our family would like to extend a deep appreciation to Hospice of Dubuque, Stonehill Health Center, Northeast Iowa Agency on Aging, and anyone who has provided care to Nancy over the last few months. We will forever be grateful for the support and kindness shown.
A Memorial Mass for Nancy will be held at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, 1870 St. Ambrose Street, Dubuque, Iowa, on Friday, March 27, 2026, at 10:00am. Information on her Celebration of Life luncheon will be provided at her Memorial Mass.
