Neil Thomas Anderson, 46, of Scales Mound, IL, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at the Medical Associates Clinic in Galena, IL.

A private celebration of Neil’s life will be held at a later date. Interment will be in Shepherd of Hills Lutheran Cemetery, Schapville, IL.

Visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Monday, April 2, 2018 at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, Schapville, IL. The Miller & Steinke Funeral Home of Scales Mound is in charge of arrangements.

Neil was born on December 20, 1971 in Dubuque, Iowa, the son of George and Carol (North) Anderson. He was a graduate of Scales Mound High School, class of 1990.

Neil was united in marriage on October 5, 2002 to Lori Stoewer-Phillips. He was a farmer and was a partner in Anderson Acres since day one.

Neil’s passion was his family, farm, and friends. Everyone knew Neil by the signature black cowboy hat and cowboy boots. He loved to spend time fishing, being with his cattle, and four wheeling.

Surviving is his wife Lori and children, Derian, Jalen, and Maddison, whom he loved spending time with; his father, George; brother, Carl Anderson, and daughter Taylor; and two nephews he loved like his own, Cyleand Clint Anderson.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Carol J. Anderson; grandparents, Bob & Marie North and Marvin and Elaine Anderson, a brother,

Dennis and aunts, Peggy, Diane and Marian.
