Pat was born on February 24, 1937, in Holy Cross, Iowa, to Raymond J. and Remi (Schaul) Gansemer.

Pat graduated from Leo High School in Holy Cross.  She married Marvin Gassman, and they had a daughter together before deciding to part ways.  Pat would later have a son to complete her family.  She was raised with a strong work ethic.  Pat worked with the Department of Human Services for 27 ½ years and at Mt. Carmel for 19 years before enjoying her retirement years.  Pat’s faith was an integral part of her life.  She was a long time member of Holy Spirit Parish, Holy Ghost Church and the Catholic Order of Foresters.  In her free time, Pat liked visiting thrift stores, playing Bingo and chatting with people.  She was also an avid reader, and, in her younger days, Pat loved to go dancing.  Pat was a kind person, and she will be greatly missed.
