Raymond F. Bechen, 85, of Dubuque, Iowa passed away on February 10, 2023.

A private family service will be held on a later date. Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road, is assisting the family.

Raymond was born on March 10, 1937 in La Motte, Iowa, son of Henry and Laura (Hentges) Bechen. He was united in marriage to Shirley Ann Bowers on July 20, 1957, at St. Clement Church in Lancaster, Wisconsin. He worked at John Deere and retired in 1990 after 30 years of employment.

Raymond loved cars, motorcycles, and antiques, and was a member of the HOG motorcycle club.

Raymond is survived by his wife Shirley Bechen, children Tom Bechen of Dubuque, Pam Mays of Casper, Wyoming, Rae Ann Bechen of Aurora, Colorado, and Karla Leick of Dubuque, seven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Laura Bechen, daughter Laura Naderman, son-in-law Jack Naderman, daughter-in-law Carol Bechen, and brothers Melvin and Merlin Bechen.

In lieu of flowers, a Raymond F. Bechen Memorial Fund has been established.
