Roger E. Magby

Roger E. Magby, age 67, of Platteville, WI, completed his earthly journey on February 28, 2026, at home while surrounded by his loving family.  To honor Roger’s life, a private family remembrance will be held at a later date.  Burial will be in the Belmont Cemetery at a later date.  The Tri-State Cremation Center is humbly serving Roger’s family.

Roger was born on February 21, 1959, in Dodgeville, WI, to John “Leroy” and Darlene (Kammerude) Magby.  He enjoyed the simple pleasures in life and was always content to live life on his terms.  Roger spent his working years in the construction trades primarily.  He was an accomplished welder and carpenter who shared his time and talents with various businesses throughout the years, but his last stent was working side by side with his friends at Tim Sherwin Electrical.  Roger took great pride in his skills and found satisfaction in each and every job he was a part of.

In his free-time, Roger’s favorite activity was surely in the hunting and fishing arena.  A bad day of either was still better than the best day at work and he treasured the opportunity to find out which was which anytime he could.  It is well known that his favorite fishing hole still remains a mystery to all except a select few.  Roger was also gifted with an innate ability to work with the dogs that came into his life.  Even the damaged and broken ones would eventually discover that Roger was there for them and their new best friend was just around the corner now that he was involved.  Roger enjoyed traveling the backroads as much as possible and if a little time to sit down and visit came into his day, you could easily find him sharing stories and the day’s events with his friends at the Char Bar.  We will miss Roger more than he could know and are grateful for every memory he leaves behind now.  Thank you, Roger, for reminding us life only has to be as complicated as we allow it to be and may peace from your earthly battles be yours now and we wait to see your genuine smile once again.
