Ron “Moosey” Latenser, 77, of Dubuque, died Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at Dubuque Specialty Care.

Private family services will be held. Entombment will be at Linwood Cemetery in Dubuque.

Ron was born September 16, 1948, in Dubuque, IA, the son of George and Ann (McCann) Latenser.

Moosey was a cook tank operator at the gelatin plant in Dubuque until his retirement. He then worked as a gas station attendant for Sam’s Club for the past eight years.

He had a passion for old cars and if he wasn’t at work or the casino, you could find him cruising the streets of Dubuque, enjoying the simple pleasure of the open road.

Survivors include his nephew, Aaron (Sara) Young, and their daughters, Olivia, Lauren, and Abigail; nephew, Gary (Jennifer) Pape; and niece, Jen (Omar) Chaudhry.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and four siblings, Robert  Latenser, Joseph Latenser, Sally Young, and Gail Latenser.
