Ruth Ann Gartner of Banner, Kentucky passed away at the age of 79 on September 18, 2024, at the University of Kentucky Hospital.

Ruth was born on December 11, 1944 to Clarence and Mary Manderscheid in Maquoketa, Iowa. Ruth married her husband James J. Gartner on September 16, 1967, in Dubuque, Iowa.

Ruth is survived by her husband, James J. Gartner of Banner, KY; sister, Lois Coakley (Tom Coakley, dec.) of Maquoketa, IA; sister, Carma Homjak (Ted Homjak, dec. Wayne Kress, dec, Wayne Pollock, dec.) of Dubuque, IA.; brother, Karl (Ginny) Manderscheid, of Apollo Beach, FL. and caregiver, Kayla Doernte of Sitka, KY.Her in-laws Terry & Doris Gartner of Dubuque, IA; DeLaine Gartner (widow of Joe Gartner, dec.) of Conway, AR; Bill and Birgit Gartner of Carlisle, IA; Mike & Donna Dendy of San Antonio, TX; Diane and Bob Mueller of Dubuque, IA; Steve and Carmen Gartner of Clarksville, TN; and Greg and Carol Gartner of Dubuque, IA.

Preceded in death by her daughter Gwen Gartner, her father and mother Clarence and Mary Manderscheid, brother Loren Manderscheid, and her father and mother-in-law, Arnold and Marian Gartner.

Visitation will be in the J.W. Call Funeral Home Chapel, Thursday, September 26, 2024, 6:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 27, 2024, in the J.W. Call Funeral Home Chapel with Jody Thompson officiating. Visitation before the funeral begins at 10:00 A.M.
