Shirley R. Box, age 61, of Dubuque, IA, completed her earthly journey on March 5, 2026, at Dubuque Specialty Care while surrounded by her loving family. Per Shirley’s request, there will be no public services. The Tri-State Cremation Center is humbly serving Shirley’s family.

Shirley was born on May 1, 1964, in Dickson, OK, a daughter to Pastor Robert and Louise (Herning) Clark. The Lord blessed her with a heart-of-gold and a positive attitude which she carried faithfully throughout her 61 years among us. Shirley worked in accounting and at the K-Mart stores for a time, but sadly, due to her physical health issues which eventually arose, she was moved into the position of full-time prayer warrior moving forward. She grew up in the Assembly of God Church and understood quite clearly the power of prayer and the personal and direct line of communication it offered to those who trusted in Jesus as their Savior. Shirley took the plan the Lord laid before her seriously and never a day went by where her heart and mind weren’t in contact with the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

If you knew and loved Shirley, you could be sure that your name was ever-present in her thoughts and prayers. A little time on the Bible app was considered to be time well spent as well. Even with her last breath she was thinking of others well-being and happiness.  Shirley didn’t allow the trials of life to hold her down or drown her spirits at any point. When bad new presented itself, her response was continually to address and conquer the mountain set before her. She was grateful for each and every blessing, as well as the growth and strength each challenge offered her in life. Sadly, Shirley has said her final grace before enjoying the meal set before her, but thankfully, she now resides in absolute perfection in the presence of her Savior whom she has so longed to meet face to face. Thank you, Shirley, for living the truest example of faith most of us could ever hope to see in this life and may the Lord bless and keep you safe in His loving arms until we meet again.

along with numerous extended family, friends and neighbors.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Robert Lynn Clark.
