Sister Rita Rae (Raffaello) Burger, OP, died Dec. 24, 2018. The funeral Mass will be Monday, Dec. 31, 2018, at 10:30 a.m., at the Sinsinawa motherhouse. A wake service will be Sunday, Dec. 30, at 6:30 p.m.

After religious profession in 1956, she taught in Chicago at St. Sabina; Epiphany; and St. Thomas the Apostle. She also taught at St. Peter, Anaconda, Mont.; St. Mary, Cheyenne; All Saints, Los Angeles; Consolidated Catholic Schools, Faribault, Minn.; and St. John Vianney, Spokane. She ministered at St. Basil, Chicago; as support staff at Risen Christ School, Minneapolis; and St. Bartholomew, Wayzata, Minn. She returned to Sinsinawa in 2017.

Sister Rita Rae was born April 28, 1933, in Madison, Wis., to Raphael and Elizabeth (Ryan) Burger.

She is survived by nieces, nephews, and her Dominican Sisters.
