Sister Theresa (Macrina) Rolling, 95, of Mount Saint Francis, Clare House in Dubuque, Iowa, passed away on April 6, 2026, at 12:47 p.m.

A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at Clare House Chapel, Mount St. Francis Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. at the Clare House Chapel. Burial will follow at the Sisters of St. Francis natural burial site. Leonard Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Theresa was born on February 16, 1931, in Armstrong, Iowa, the daughter of Peter and Mary Elizabeth (Schmit) Rolling. Theresa entered the Sisters of St. Francis August 25, 1949, and made final profession of vows August 12, 1955. Sister received her bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Briar Cliff College, Sioux City, Iowa. She ministered in Iowa at St. Mary, Waterloo; Remsen; St. Donatus; Sacred Heart, Fort Dodge; Forest City, and in Dubuque at Sacred Heart, Catholic Charities Daycare, Mary of the Angels, and Mount St. Francis Center. She was also missioned at Kearney, NE, Spokane, WA, and St. Paul and International Falls, MN.

Sister is survived by her brother, Bernard (Connie) Rolling; sister-in-law, Debra Rolling; nieces; nephews; and her Franciscan sisters.

Sister was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Rita (Wayne) Beshey, Marcella (Eugene) Yetmar, Bernadette (Douglas) Spangler, Dorothy (Dennis) Eckerman, and Helena (Gerald) Irmiter; brothers, James (Alice) Rolling, Charles (Joan) Rolling, Michael (Velma) Rolling, Patrick (Dorothy) Rolling, Francis (Helen) Rolling, Dennis (Marlene) Rolling, John (Marian) Rolling, and Joseph Rolling.
