According to her wishes, there will be no services or visitation. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery at a later date.

Sue was born December 25, 1959, in Orange County, CA, the daughter of Gene Arnold and Elmerial Ann Cornwell Kelly. On March 25, 1978, she married Kevin Parnell Robbins at the United Methodist Church in Guttenberg, Iowa. He passed away on June 17, 2005.

She was a longtime hairdresser, which was her passion and had also worked at Dubuque Packing Company before retiring.

Sue had a deep love for her grandchildren and cherished every moment spent babysitting them. She adored her cat, Skitzer, and found joy in life’s simple pleasures-sipping Coca-Cola, collecting Coca-Cola and Betty Boop memorabilia as well as her Native American culture in dream catchers and crystals. She had a love for vintage black and white movies and never missed an episode of I Love Lucy. In her younger years, loved spending time outdoors and Sunday nights roller skating at Skate Country with her family and friends. Purple was her favorite color and always wore bells, a fitting reflection of her vibrant and warm spirit.

Survivors include two daughters, Christine A. (Dan) Klossner and Kelly A. (Ken) Ostert, both of Dubuque; five grandchildren, Daniel, Crystal, Damon, Lilith, and Liam; one brother, James Kelly of Houston, TX; and three sisters, Irma Kelly of Dubuque, Marla Jones of Houston, TX, and Ann (Richard) Gibbons of Dubuque.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and one nephew, Nathan.

Her family extends their heartfelt thanks to the Dubuque Police Department and the paramedics of the Dubuque Fire Department for their assistance, and a special thank you to her medical team at Medical Associates and Crescent Community Health.
