Susan M. Casper, 66, of Dubuque, IA, passed away on Thursday, August 8, 2024 at Luther Manor Nursing Home in Dubuque, with her family by her side.

Family and friends may call from 10:00 a.m. – 1:45 p.m. on Wednesday, August 14 at Holy Ghost Church in Dubuque, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, with Fr. Steve Garner officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Key West.

Sue was born on May 13, 1958 in Dubuque, the daughter of Donald and Mary (Banfield) Gieseman. She was a graduate of Cuba City, WI, High School, the class of 1976.

Sue was employed as a dental assistant with Dr. Bill Stoffel, DDS, for approximately 20+ years.  She later worked in retail. Sue loved being with family and enjoyed spoiling her granddaughter. She loved dining out, with her favorite two restaurants being Breitbach’s Country Dining in Balltown, and Chops Kall Inn, rural Hazel Green.  She loved Christmas holidays, and the fish fries put on by her brother-in-law Jerry and her nephew Brian “Lep” Loeffelholz.

Surviving is her son, Dan (Janell Dye) Casper of Dubuque and her granddaughter, Lilly and Jasmine; four sisters, Judy (Ron) Ginter, Patty (Jerry) Loeffelholz, Mary Ellen (Jim) Wiederholt, and JoAnn (Scott) Kuhl; her nieces and nephews,Heidi, Paul and Becky, Brian and Jenny, Ben and Mallory, and Lydia, Tacia, Loralei and Nash.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Don and Mary, and an infant son, Jeffrey Daniel.

Sue’s family wishes to thank the nurses and staff at the University of Iowa Hospital, The Finley Hospital, and Hospice of Dubuque for the care and compassion shown to Sue and her family.

The Miller Funeral Home of East Dubuque is assisting the family.
