Thomas E. Kerkenbush

Thomas E. “Tom” Kerkenbush, age 66, of Platteville, WI, died on March 20, 2020, comfortably at home from complications of liver cancer. To honor Tom’s life, there will be no visitation or services at this time.  A picnic will be held at the farm later this summer to celebrate his life.  The Tri-State Cremation Center is humbly serving Tom’s family.

Tom was born on September 29, 1953, in Potosi, WI, a son to Eugene and Theresa (Leibfried) Kerkenbush.  He grew up enjoying the great outdoors and was an exceptional athlete,  playing any sports he could when the opportunities arose. Just out of high school he landed a job at John Deere Dubuque Works, where he spent his whole working career, retiring after 30 years. Tom married Betty Brickl on his 20th birthday and after 46 years together they had 3 children and 3 grandkids.

Tom enjoyed the good life; fishing, hunting, cutting wood, fixing fence on the farm, gardening, and antique picking. His favorite past-time was hanging out with his family or friends and he faithfully spent the last few years in full wrestling Grandpa mode. He was a best friend to many and he will be greatly missed.  Tom especially loved ice fishing for crappies, “May the vision of you ice fishing in your white boots and hover craft bring us some peace until we meet again”.
