Thomas Priebe Sr.
Thomas Priebe Sr., 76, of Dubuque, Iowa peacefully passed away April 1, 2025, at home surrounded by his family after a lengthy battle of cancer from agent orange.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm Friday, April 4, 2025 at Hoffmann Schneider & Kitchen Funeral Home & Crematory. Members of the East Dubuque Fire Department will meet in a group at 6:00 pm Friday at the funeral home.
The Funeral Service for Tom will be 10:00 am Saturday, April 5, 2025, at Hoffmann Schneider & Kitchen Funeral Home & Crematory with Pastor Charles Tharp officiating. Burial will be in Rockdale Cemetery in Dubuque. Full military honors will be rendered by the American Legion Post #6 and the Iowa Army National Guard.
Tom was born April 11, 1948, the son of Charles Max and Gladys Delaney Priebe. On August 26, 2000, he married Judy Kramer Rowley at Immanuel United Church of Christ in Dubuque.
He was a U.S. Veteran serving as Sergeant in the Army, 2nd Infantry Division and retired from the Navy as Petty Officer 1st Class.
Tom retired from the Dubuque Packing Company and Laborers Local 32 in Rockford, IL. He also worked part time for the Rockford Park District, Dubuque Park District, and was a retired volunteer from the East Dubuque Fire Department. Tom was a member of DAV, American Legion, and VFW.
Tom had a great sense of humor and a love for his family and friends.

Tom enjoyed traveling the country with his wife Judy and brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Sandy, spending time with family and talking about his time spent in the Army and Navy to anyone who would listen.
Surviving Tom is his wife of 25 years, Judy; three sons, Grover (Tracy) Priebe of East Dubuque, Thomas (Melissa) Priebe Jr. of Dubuque, and Jeff (Teri) Rowley of Dubuque; one daughter, Julie (Travis) Wiebke of Mason City; one sister, Pam Gagne of Dubuque; sisters-in-law, Mary Kay (John) Casper of Mission Viejo, CA, and Sandy (Mike) Kapparos, Pam Priebe, and Linda (Terry) Wiedemann, all of Dubuque; one brother-in-law, Bill (Cheryl) Kramer of Dubuque; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Joan Peil, two brothers, Ron and Charles Priebe, one grandson, Alex Wiebke, brothers-in-law, Tom McEmeel and Don Gagne, and one sister-in-law, Connie Priebe.
The family would like to thank Dr. Mark Hermann, Tony Heiar and their staff, Mayo Clinic, and the Finley infusion nurses. The family also extends a special thank you to Hospice of Dubuque for all the help, support, and guidance they offered.
