UnityPoint Health – Finley Hospital and the Finley Health Foundation are excited to announce renovation work will soon begin on the Family Birthing Suites’ dedicated C-Section Suite.

The renovation, which is scheduled to be complete in February 2026, will expand the operating room, streamline the suite’s layout, enhance functionality, and upgrade equipment within this highly specialized operating room for mother and baby. During the construction project, C-sections will continue to be performed but occurring in the hospital’s general surgical suites.

Renovation of the Family Birthing Suites is made possible by support from the Finley Health Foundation’s Healthy Births and Babies Capital Campaign which kicked off in the Fall of 2023.

“The commitment from donors throughout the tri-state area has enabled the Foundation to fully fund the $1.4 million renovation that will bring a fresh new space, located just a few steps from our labor and delivery suites,” shared Barbara Potts, Executive Director, Finley Health Foundation.

“Delivering patient-centered maternity care personalizes every moment to make the birth of each child memorable. The new Cesarean Suite will extend that level of excellence into our facility, so the environment mirrors the care each new family receives, regardless of delivery method,” stated Jenni Scott, RN, BSN, RNC-OB, Manager, Family Birthing Suites.

Backed by Finley’s highly specialized NICU, the hospital is a leader is maternity care with 624 babies delivered in 2024.
