Wayne A. Bauer, age 86, of Dubuque, Iowa passed away April 10, 2024, at Stonehill Care Center. Friends may visit from 9:30 a.m. until 10:15 a.m., on Monday, April 15, 2024, at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, 2921 Central Avenue.  Funeral services to follow 10:30 a.m., with Rev. Jeffrey I. Frieden officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Galena, Illinois.  Behr Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Wayne was born on August 11, 1937, in Dubuque to Albert and Pauline (Stierman) Bauer. He was a 1955 graduate of Loras Academy.  Wayne worked at Dubuque Pack, FDL and Farmland Foods for 44 years and was a member of Union Local 431. He was a lifelong resident of Dubuque and member of Holy Spirit Parish.

Mr. Bauer is survived by

his godson,
Steve Porter, Fulton, IL;

several cousins;

and friend,
Vern Auderer, Dubuque, IA.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; two aunts, Eleanor and Evelyn Stierman; and many cousins.
