William A. “Bill” Pierson, age 65, of Dubuque, passed away on Friday, February 6, 2026, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. To celebrate Bill’s life, family and friends may visit from 2:00 p.m. until 3:45 p.m., on Wednesday, February 18, 2026 at Behr Funeral Home, 1491 Main Street. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m., on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Bill was born on July 17, 1960, in Coos Bay, Oregon, the son of William Duane and Samantha Ann (Gheer) Pierson.
Bill graduated from high school and then went to trade school in Fort Collins, Colorado. He was very proud to be certified as a Master Technician in Refrigeration. He honorably served his country with the U.S. Navy. Bill married Tamra Kinnison in 1980, in Fort Collins, Colorado. He was a hard worker and employed as a Master Refrigeration Technician for Walmart in both Platteville and Galena. In his free time, Bill enjoyed watching football, playing with his dogs, keeping up with current events and checking out Facebook. His sense of humor was hilarious and outrageous. He loved teasing his family and friends, and they loved giving it right back to him. You never knew what was going to come out of his mouth, if he was thinking it, he would say it. Bill loved his family, and especially liked spending time hanging out with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Bill was “one in a million” and we will miss him tremendously.
