William M. Edleman
William (Bill) M. Edleman, age 64, of St. Charles, Missouri, passed away peacefully on April 5, 2026, after a brief illness and hospitalization.
A Celebration of Bill’s life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, April 17, 2026, at Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa, Iowa. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In keeping with Bill’s wishes, he was cremated.
Bill was born on August 1, 1961, in Maquoketa, Iowa, to Don and Lois Edleman. He grew up in Delmar, Iowa, and graduated from Delwood High School in 1979. He married Lynne Rutenbeck on April 21, 1984, and together they raised two children, Elizabeth and Jacob.
Bill worked for many years as an IT manager and retired in 2023. He enjoyed spending time with his family—especially his grandchildren, who lovingly called him “Pops”—playing golf, and taking family trips. He also enjoyed watching Iowa Hawkeye sports, the Chicago Cubs and Bears, and golf tournaments. Most importantly, he was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Lynne Edleman of St. Charles, Missouri; daughter Elizabeth (Craig) Stillman of St. Charles, Missouri; and son Jacob (Emily) Edleman of Waukee, Iowa. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Hannah, Hayden, Porter, Ember, and Lily; three sisters, Jan Teramae and Pam Teramae, both of Coralville, Iowa, and Sherri Hughes of Preston, Iowa; sisters-in-law Jeanne (Rob) Christensen of Marshalltown, Iowa, and Joan Etringer of Beloit, Wisconsin; brother-in-law Lee Rutenbeck of Maquoketa, Iowa; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents; his father- and mother-in-law, Alan and Donna Rutenbeck; and his brothers-in-law, Dave Etringer and Jay Hughes.
In lieu of flowers, memorials and cards of condolence may be sent to the family in Bill’s honor at Carson Celebration of Life Center, 318 W. Pleasant Street, Maquoketa, Iowa 52060.
Bill will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
