Winston William Negus, two months old, of Dubuque, IA, passed away on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at 6:40 a.m. at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics.

Friends and family may visit from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 14, at Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Rd, Dubuque, IA.  A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, March 15, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Key West. Burial will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery.

Winston was born on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, at 2:40 p.m. at UIHC, the son of Samantha Schuster and Isaiah Negus.

He is survived by his parents, Samantha and Isaiah; his brother Lawson; grandparents: Tim and Susan Schuster, William and Trish Negus and Necole and Daylen Daniels; aunts and uncles: Tiffani (Kyle) Zierden, Desirae (Chad) Benge, Megan Daniels, Dillion Daniels; Cousins: Ellie, Evy and Owen.

Winston is preceded in death by his great grandparents Leonard Schuster, Freddy and Kathy Taylor, William Negus Sr., and Jerry Daniels.  Cousins: Heather Neuroth and Weston Neuroth.

“We knew from the beginning Winston was going to have a long stay in the NICU.  At 20 weeks pregnant we found out Winston had RCDH.  He had a 50/50 chance of survival after birth.  He was a warrior for 55 days and fought so hard.  We love you, baby boy.”
