Ann M. Mead

Ann Marie Mead, age 72, of Dubuque, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2026, at Luther Manor.  To celebrate Ann’s life, private family services were held.  Burial was in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.  Behr Funeral Home, 1491 Main Street is assisting Ann’s family.

Ann was born on December 28, 1953, in Dubuque, Iowa, the daughter of Alfred H. and Celeste (Herber) Richard.

Ann graduated from Wahlert Catholic High School, Class of 1972.  Ann married Ronald Mead, and they were blessed with 2 beautiful daughters together.  She was a long time member of St. Joseph the Worker Church.  Ann appreciated the simple things in life.  She enjoyed long leisurely lunches and playing dice and cards with family and friends.  She was very creative and designed homemade greeting cards for family.  Ann never forgot a birthday.  The cards always put a smile on their faces and made them feel extra special.  Growing up, her daughters loved spending summers playing cards and watching old time movies.  One of her favorite pastimes was crocheting.  Ann made countless kitchen hand towels that were loved by everyone.  They were greatly appreciated, and a highly requested item.  She also made beautiful prayer shawls with her parish group to be given away to anyone in need.  Ann was a kind hearted woman and she will be deeply missed.
