Ardella A. Weber, 89, of St. Catherine, Iowa, passed away peacefully at home on July 18, 2026. Born on March 12, 1937, in LaMotte, Iowa, to Carl and Cleta (Wiesler) Lenz, Ardella lived a life defined by faith, family, hard work, and an enduring love for the land she called home.

Friends and family may visit from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 26, 2026, at Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road. A wake service will be held prior to the visitation at 1:30 p.m. with Deacon Loras Weber.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday July 27, 2026, at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church, 5213 St Catherine Road, with Rev. Gary Mayer officiating, Rev. Dave Ambrosy concelebrating, and Deacon Loras Weber as homilist. An additional visitation will be held at the church on Monday from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Just one month ago, Ardella and her beloved husband, Marvin Weber, celebrated an extraordinary milestone—70 years of marriage. Married on June 12, 1956, they built a beautiful life together rooted in love, commitment, and unwavering devotion. Through the joys and challenges of life, they remained side by side, often saying that farming together was one of the secrets to the strength of their marriage. Their partnership was a testament to enduring love and dedication.

Ardella found happiness in the simple yet meaningful rhythms of country life. She was an avid gardener, skilled woodworker, dedicated farmer, and enthusiastic card player. Whether tending her flowers, working alongside Marvin on the farm, or creating something beautiful with her hands in the workshop, she poured her heart into everything she did. Yet among all her passions, nothing brought her greater joy than spending time with her family.

A woman of deep faith, Ardella faithfully served her church and community. She expressed her love not only through her words but through countless acts of kindness, generosity, and hospitality. Her kitchen was often filled with the aromas of meals made with love, and no one ever left her table hungry. Food was one of the many ways she cared for those around her, making everyone feel welcomed, valued, and loved.

Ardella’s life revolved around the people she cherished. She somehow managed to be present for every family gathering, milestone, celebration, and special moment. Whether gathered around a holiday table, sharing stories over a card game with friends, or simply enjoying a quiet day on the farm with Marvin, she embraced every opportunity to create memories with those she loved.

Her family will forever remember the way she made each person feel important. We will miss her warm smile, her strength, her wisdom, her unwavering work ethic, and the way she always seemed to be busy with her next project around the farm. We will miss the cherished family recipes she passed down, the special traditions she created during the holidays, her willingness to lend a helping hand, and even the laughter that came from helping her catch her beloved cats.

Above all, we will miss the love she gave so freely and abundantly. Ardella’s legacy lives on in the family she nurtured, the values she instilled, and the countless lives she touched through her faith, generosity, and kindness. Though our hearts ache in her absence, we find comfort knowing her love remains woven into the fabric of our lives, guiding us always.

Ardella is survived by her husband, Marvin Weber; her four children, Karen (Michael) Connolly of Dubuque, Steven (Kim) Weber of Dubuque, Kevin Weber of Bellevue, Allen (Donna) Weber of Dubuque; twelve grandchildren and their spouses, Keith (Eileen) Connolly, Brian (Emily) Connolly, Matt (Roselyn) Connolly, Nick (Tawny) Weber, Mike (Julie) Weber, Chris (Rachel) Weber, Russell (Raychel) Weber, Drew (Kayla) Weber, Alisha (Mark) Schultz, Josh (Kelli) Weber, Jordan Weber, Katlin (Anthony) Fortin; 31 great grandkids, and a great-great grandson all of whom brought her tremendous joy and pride. She is also survived by her sister, Harriett Smith; brother, Gary Lenz; and sister-in-law, LuAnn Weber.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Carl & Cleta (Wiesler) Lenz; siblings, Melvin (Anita, Evelyn) Lenz, Geraldine Helsel, and Willard Lenz; in-laws Nick (Margaret) Weber, Ray (Mary) Weber, Delores (Lawrence) Maro, Neil (Rose) Weber, Vernon (Loraine) Weber, Lester (Ruth) Weber, and Milton Weber.

We would like to thank Hospice of Dubuque, especially her grandson (Chris Weber) and Stonehill Health Center, especially her granddaughter (Katlin Fortin) for their loving care of Ardella, and all the family and friends who have provided support during this difficult time.

She was deeply loved and will be deeply missed.
