Betty Jean (Siegert) Tigges, 94, of Dubuque died Saturday, August 8, 2026.  Visitation will be from 8:45 to 10:45 a.m. Friday, August 14, 2026 at the Egelhof, Siegert and Casper Funeral Home and Crematory, 2659 Kennedy Road followed by a Funeral Service Friday at 11 a.m. Committal will be at Mt. Betty was born February 14, 1932 in Monona, Iowa, daughter of Daniel and Augusta (Scheffert) Cunningham. She graduated at the top of her Dubuque Senior High School Class of 1949.

Betty married Alfred W. Siegert Sr. on June 10, 1950. He preceded her in death on August 15, 1986. She married Joseph Tigges on February 13, 1988. He preceded her in death May 14, 1998.

Betty worked as personnel manager for Montgomery Wards. She also held many payroll positions for various companies both in Dubuque and later in Texas. She and Alfred also farmed from 1955 to 1982, when they moved to Texas.

Upon Alfred’s passing in 1986, Betty moved back to Iowa.

She was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church.

Betty enjoyed a good game of Euchre. She also enjoyed travel, the Cubs and Packers, and the thrill of roller coasters and other thrilling rides.

She is survived by seven children, Susan (Jim) Brimmer of Dubuque, Alfred W. (Suzie) Siegert, Jr, of Dubuque, Bruce A. (Ann) Siegert of Eldridge, Iowa, Lynn D. (Deb) Siegert of Asbury, Jeff J. (Peggy) Siegert of Key West, Laura L. (Tom) Hayes of Dubuque and Greg D. (Michelle) Siegert of Dubuque.  She is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, Godmother and sister in law, Marlene Brimeyer, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Justin Siegert and Phillip Hayes; eight siblings and several sisters in law and brothers in law.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staffs at MercyOne, Stonehill Care Center, No Place Like Home, as well as Dr. Mark Moore, Dr. John Wahlen and Dr. Kenneth Steffen. They would also like to thank Nancy Noonan, for all of their loving care and support.
