Carter Korth

In Loving Memory of Carter Korth

September 18, 2012 – June 5, 2026

With deep love and profound sadness, we share the passing of our beloved son, Carter Korth, who left this world peacefully at home on June 5, 2026, surrounded by his family.

For thirteen unforgettable years, Carter filled our lives with joy, light, and a love that will remain forever. Though he faced the challenges of Sanfilippo syndrome, a rare and progressive genetic disorder with no cure that gradually robs children of their abilities, Carter’s life was never defined by his diagnosis. His spirit, smile, and the way he connected with others told a far greater story — one of resilience, warmth, and extraordinary presence.

Carter found magic in the world around him. He loved all things Disney — especially Mickey Mouse, Toy Story, and Disney princesses. Music brought him happiness, whether listening to songs or hearing the guitar. He enjoyed ball sports, water play, and being surrounded by his siblings, family, and friends. His happiest moments were simple ones: being with people he loved and watching the world around him.

Those who knew Carter will forever remember his radiant smile and infectious laugh. He had a rare gift — a gaze so sincere that it felt like he was speaking directly to your heart. Without words, he made people feel seen, loved, and whole.

Carter is deeply loved by his parents, Kyle and Marcie Korth; his siblings, Owen, Madelyn, and Jordyn; his grandparents, Teresa Korth, Steve and Teresa Wulff; and many extended family members, friends, caregivers, and all whose lives were changed by knowing him. He is preceded in death by his grandfather Pete Korth; great aunt Kelly Kupersmith; and cousin Annaleah Wampfler.

Though our hearts ache, we are profoundly grateful for the gift of Carter’s life. He taught us how to love unconditionally, find joy in small moments, persevere through hardship, and recognize the quiet power of a gentle spirit. The measure of a life is not in its length, but in the love it leaves behind — and by that measure, Carter’s life was extraordinary.

Carter will be missed every day, remembered in every smile, and loved forever. His story continues in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.

In honor of Carter’s life, The Carter Korth Memorial Fund will be established to assist children with disabilities and their families; and to support rare disease research. Through this work, Carter’s legacy of love, resilience, and compassion will continue to shine.

Forever loved. Forever missed. Forever our Carter Boy.

Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m., Friday, June 12 at Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Funeral Home, 2659 JFK Road. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, June 13 at Resurrection Catholic Church in Dubuque, Iowa.
