Constance Lee Riedl

Constance “Connie” Lee Riedl, 78, of Dubuque, died Friday, June 5, 2026, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

Visitation will be from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Tuesday, June 9, 2026 at Hoffmann Schneider & Kitchen Funeral Home & Crematory. Additional visitation will be held from 9:30 am until 10:45 am on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at Hoffmann Schneider & Kitchen Funeral Home & Crematory.

The Funeral Service for Connie will be at 11:00 am on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at Hoffmann Schneider & Kitchen Funeral Home & Crematory with Deacon Dave Roth officiating. Burial will be at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Dubuque.

Connie was born December 6, 1947, in Dubuque, IA, the daughter of Eugene C. and Alice M. (Howe) Skinner. On September 26, 1966, she married Donald Riedl at St. Patrick’s Church in Dubuque.

Connie graduated from Dubuque Senior High School in 1965. She worked as a building permit clerk for the City of Dubuque for 28 years and also worked for the Dubuque Municipal Court system.

She was a past member of the Dubuque Rhythm Cloggers and enjoyed traveling with Don and the group to attend conventions and performances. She enjoyed trying her luck at the casino and looked forward to the fun and excitement of winning big.

Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Donald Riedl of Dubuque; three children, Robert (Isabel) Riedl of Tacoma, WA, Christine (Nick Hogan Sr.) Riedl of Dubuque, and Ryan (Heather Kress) Riedl of Dubuque; four grandchildren, Alex (Kayla Carpenter) Riedl of Dubuque, Samantha (Felix Danila) Riedl of Seattle, WA, Cameron (Bryanna) Riedl of Yelm, WA, and Ethan Riedl of Tacoma, WA; three great-grandchildren, Tim Riedl of Dubuque, and Addie Jo Riedl, and Oliver Lee Riedl both of Yelm, WA; seven siblings, Barbara Hawbaker of Cherokee Village, AR, Marsha (Pat) Corken of Dubuque, Marla (Ken) Cruise of Dubuque, Bill Skinner of Maqoketa, Gail (Dennis) Hayes of Larkspur, CO, Paul Skinner of Dubuque, and Stacy (Tim) Vath of Greer, SC; three sisters-in-law, Sandy (Kenny Boyes) Temperly, Robin (Denny) Downing, and Kimmy (Ryan) Fisher all of Dubuque; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; parents-in-law, Marci (Glen) Coyle; and siblings-in-law, Jerry Hawbaker and Debra Schueller.

Connie’s family would like to thank the nurses and staff at UnityPoint Finley ER and Iowa City ICU for their compassionate care.
