Charles Crimmins

A Funeral Mass for Charles “Chuck” Crimmins, 89, of Bridgeport, Texas, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at St. John the Baptizer Catholic Church in Bridgeport, with burial following at Memory Gardens of the Valley in Weatherford.

Charles “Chuck” Leo Crimmins was born on February 11, 1937, in Dubuque, Iowa, and passed away peacefully on August 17, 2026, in Decatur, Texas.

Chuck’s life was filled with family, music, laughter, and love. A gifted musician, music was more than a pastime for Chuck—it was a part of who he was. For many years, he played guitar aboard the Spirit of Dubuque on the Mississippi River, sharing his talent and his love of music with countless people along the way.

Chuck was an incredibly versatile musician who played steel guitar, bass, guitar, and drums. He also loved to sing and was known for sounding remarkably like Hank Williams. For a time, he even had a band of his own. Perhaps one of his greatest musical legacies, however, was passing that love of music on to his children and grandchildren, where it will continue for generations to come.

On August 9, 1958, Chuck married the love of his life, Patricia “Pat” Marie Crimmins. Together, they shared an extraordinary 68 years of marriage. Chuck and Pat loved to dance, and through nearly seven decades together, they spent much of their lives doing just that—dancing side by side through the years, both on the dance floor and through life.

Chuck will be remembered as one of the most genuine, kind, and loving people anyone could have known. He never met a stranger and had a way of making those around him feel welcomed and cared for. Above all else, Chuck loved his family deeply. His devotion to them, his gentle spirit, and the joy he brought into their lives will never be forgotten.

Chuck was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Sarge and Vince; and his sister, Kathy, all of Dubuque, Iowa.

Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife, Patricia Marie Crimmins; his daughters, Paula Livins of Tampa, Florida, and Nicole Ferrell and her husband, Michael; his sister, Sandy of Elizabeth, Iowa; his grandchildren, Charlie Livens and his wife, Erin, of Fort Collins, Colorado, Joel Livens and his wife, Meg, of Loveland, Colorado, Maddi Waskom of Cambridge, and Lizzy Waskom of Mabank, Texas; as well as his three great-grandchildren, Avery, Lucy, and Russell.

Chuck leaves behind a beautiful legacy—a family who adored him, a lifetime of music, 68 years of dancing beside the woman he loved, and countless memories that will continue to bring smiles for years to come.

Though the music may be quieter without him, Chuck’s song will live on in every life he touched and in every generation that carries forward his love of music and family.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to The Salvation Army in Chuck’s honor.
