Cheri Schockemoehl
Cheri Schockemoehl, 78, of Dubuque, died Sunday, August 16, 2026, at Unity Point Health-Finley Hospital in Dubuque.
Private family services will be held. Burial will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Key West.
Cheryl was born February 9, 1948, in Milwaukee, WI, the daughter of Eugene and Dolores (Wysocki) Kryzinski. On June 15, 1973, she married Gary J. Schockemoehl in Dubuque. He preceded her in death on March 5, 2016.
She graduated from Divine Savior High School in Milwaukee, WI in 1966.
Cheri worked for Operation New View as Ruby Sutton’s assistant and later as a Para Professional for the Dubuque Community School District.
She enjoyed expressing her creativity through making jewelry, painting, and crocheting, often making blankets for her family and friends. She also loved writing poetry and wrote a children’s book. She found happiness in the simple pleasures of life, especially getting dressed up, visiting with friends and neighbors, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her three children, Chad (Nichole) Schockemoehl of Dubuque, Stephanie Bush of Dubuque, and Shelby Schockemoehl of Boca Raton, FL; eight grandchildren, Luke Schockemoehl, Jacob Schockemoehl, Makayla Schockemoehl, Maria Schockemoehl, Anna Schockemoehl, Bella Bush, Elijah Schockemoehl, and Grey Schockemoehl; and one sister, Cynthia Owens of Big Bend, WI.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, step-mother, Viola Kryzinski, and brother-in-law, David Owens.
Memorials may be given to the Wendt Regional Cancer Center.
