Clint J. Sharkey Jr.
Clint Joseph Sharkey Jr., 35, of Dubuque, Iowa, passed away on April 16, 2026, at home surrounded by his family.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Rd. Following the visitation, a funeral service with full military honors will take place at 6:00 p.m., by the Dubuque Marine Corps League. To honor Clint, the family requests that attendees dress in patriotic colors—red, white, and blue—to honor his love for his country.
Born in San Diego, California. The son of Clint “CJ” J. Sharkey Sr. Tina (Robinson) Sharkey. Clint was raised in Iowa, where he built a life centered on family, friendship, and love of his country.
Clint proudly served in the United States Navy from 2014 to 2019. His service reflected the deep patriotism he carried throughout his life and the love he had for America.
He was known for his sharp sense of humor, quick sarcasm, and stubborn spirit. Clint had a way of making people laugh, keeping those around him on their toes, and leaving lasting memories with everyone he met. Clint enjoyed spending time with family, playing hockey, golfing, and riding his Harley and LIVIN.
Above all else, Clint was a loving father, devoted husband, loving son, brother and dear friend. Clint faced illness with remarkable strength and no fear, showing courage and determination until the very end. His resilience will remain an inspiration to all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Charles C. Sharkey Jr. and Charles D. Robinson; his uncle, Craig Sharkey; his father-in-law, Jeffrey Hartley.
He is survived by his wife, Kerstien Sharkey; his beloved daughters, Tori and Aubrie; his parents, Clint Sr. and Tina Sharkey; his loyal dog, Red; his brother, Chad (Allie) Sharkey; his sister Nicole Sharkey; mother-in-law, Ruthann; sisters-in-law, K-Leigh, Kendra, Maddie and Kamree; 5 nephews; Ethan, Owen, Royce, Chad JR, Chase and Reid. Many aunts, uncles, great aunts and great uncles. His grandmothers Carol Sharkey and Jeanie (Steve) Newton. His best friends; Mitch, Kyle and Austin.
Clint will be remembered for his laughter, loyalty, courage, and the love he gave so freely to those closest to him. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to their family and close friends for the love, compassion, and care they gave Clint.
