Jeffery Alan Gruber, age 61, passed away on December 26, 2025, at his home.

A Celebration of Life will be held on May 2, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. Eagles View Pavilion, Eagle Point Park in Dubuque, Iowa. Family and friends are welcome to gather and honor Jeff’s life. Private family burial will be held at Mount Calvary Cemetery.

Jeff was born on November 6, 1964, son of Francis X. Gruber Jr. and Mary F. Yeary. He graduated from Dubuque Senior High School in 1984 and was formerly employed by Jeld-Wen. Jeff enjoyed spending time at the Mines of Spain, walking the Riverwalk, and fishing with his friends. He had a deep appreciation for Dubuque’s history and the places that made it special to him.

Jeff will be remembered by those who knew him, and his passing leaves a space that will be felt by family and friends.

Jeff is survived by his daughter, Jena Gruber (Romain Ben Ali) of Paris, France; and his siblings: Mike (Sue Lang) Gruber of Dubuque, IA, Deb Gruber of Spanaway, WA, Lisa Gruber of Burgess, VA, Joe (Jo Ann) Gruber of Dubuque, IA, Missy Donovan of Dubuque, IA, Monica (Steve) Kuhlman of Cottonwood Heights, UT, Sara (Tony Robinson) Marino of Cedar Rapids, IA, Curtis (Jennifer) Gruber of Centennial, CO, Paul (Erica) Gruber of Dubuque, IA, Mark (Jackie) Gruber of Daphne, AL, Abi (Nick Spielman) Gruber of Richfield, MN; several nieces and nephews, as well as great-nieces and nephews; and his best bud, Willie Hammel.

Jeff was preceded in death by his parents, Mary F. Yeary, Francis X. (Sheri) Gruber Jr.; and his brother, Danny.
