Connie Thomas, 79, of Dubuque, Iowa, formerly of Rockville, Maryland, passed away on August 30, 2026, at Stonehill Care Center surrounded by family.

Friends and family may visit from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday September 3, 2026, at Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Private family burial will be held at a later date in Maryland.

Connie was born on June 20, 1947, the daughter of Leonard and Velma (Lattner) Healy. She grew up in Dubuque and graduated from the Visitation Academy. She met and married Carlton Thomas on May 13, 1973. She then moved to Rockville, MD where she and Carlton raised their 2 daughters Cara and Christine Thomas. She then moved back to Dubuque nine years ago after her husband passed away.

She is survived by her two daughters, Cara and Christy Thomas of Maryland; siblings Dianne (Ed Baldwin) Healy-Clauss of Royal Oak, MI, Denny (Mary) Healy of Eldridge, IA, and Joe (Julie) Healy of Dubuque; sisters-in-law Virginia Healy of Hazel Green, Wi and Bev Healy of Dubuque; along with many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Connie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; siblings Robert, Jack, Tom (Judy) Healy, Pat (Howard) Hash, and Janann (Tim) Burns.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be given to the charity of your choice.
