Darlene K. (Thul) Wubben, age 90, of Menominee, IL, passed away on Sunday, April 12, 2026 at Ahva Living Center in East Dubuque, IL.

Family and friends may call from 8:45 – 10:15 a.m. on Saturday, April 18, 2026 at the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Menominee, IL, where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., with Fr. Bosco Aruldoss officiating.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Darlene was born on October 31, 1935 in Dubuque, IA, the daughter of Alphonse and Barbara (Vaessen) Thul. She was united in marriage to Vernon H. Wubben on October 6, 1962 at St. Philomena Catholic Church in Asbury, IA.  He preceded her in death on May 6, 2023.

Darlene was a member of Nativity BVM Parish and its St. Ann’s Society. She and Vernon formerly farmed in the Menominee area.

Darlene loved bowling, enjoyed playing cards, especially euchre, bingo, her flower beds, and the many trips that she and Vernon enjoyed in the United States and to 18 countries in Europe.

Surviving is one brother, Ray (Pat) Thul of Asbury, IA and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alphonse and Barbara, husband, Vernon, siblings, Margaret (Daryl) Ernster, Leonard Thul, and William (Joyce) Thul, in-laws, Marita (Dale) Linden and Coletta Wubben.

Darlene’s family would like to express they’re thanks to the nurses and staff at Mercy One Oncology, Hospice of Dubuque, and Ahva Living for their care and support of Darlene.
