Raymond D. Milroy
Raymond D. Milroy, age 85, of Dekalb, Illinois, passed away on Friday, April 10, 2026, at Aperion Care Dekalb. To celebrate Ray’s life, family and friends may visit from 9:00 a.m. until 10:15 a.m., on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at Behr Funeral Home, 1491 Main Street, Dubuque. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Saturday at the funeral home, with Deacon David Roth officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, where full military honors will be accorded by the Dubuque Marine Corps League.
Ray was born on December 20, 1940, in Galena, Illinois, to Theodore Alexander Milroy and Charlotte (Wade) Puckett Milroy Cole.
Ray attended Dubuque area schools and completed his GED. He honorably served his country in the U.S. Navy for 4 years. He served 5 years as an apprentice pipe fitter and plumber. Ray used his knowledge in the field for 50 years, retiring as the Chief Code Enforcement Officer for the City of Carol Stream, Illinois. He was a member of Pipe Fitters Local 501 in Chicago and the American Legion group in Dekalb. On January 23, 1960, he married the love of his life, Paula Buser, in San Diego, California. Together they raised their family and happily celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary earlier this year. Ray enjoyed taking beautiful photographs with a special interest in birds, especially eagles.

Ada, Adleigh, Eleanor, Emmett, Alessi Rae, Mateo, Jaelyn, Enzlie, Kaiden, Olive, Quinn, Martin, Luke, Nora, Maeve, Eloise, and Oliver;
his siblings,
Frank Milroy, New Mexico
and Donna (Mike) Lindauer, Dubuque, IA;
and several nieces and nephews.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents; and his siblings, Anna Milroy in infancy, Russell Puckett, Theodore “Teddy” (Sandy) Milroy, and Larry Milroy.
