David was born on September 22, 1952, in Dubuque, Iowa, son of Walter “Wally” and Mary Jane “Dolly” (Evers) Schuster. He married Diane Neuhaus on June 19, 1976, in Dyersville, Iowa.

Dave’s family was the centerpiece of his world. He loved to coach his children and watch their sporting events as they grew up. He was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs and enjoyed going to a game at the ballpark. He seemed to know someone wherever he went and always had a helping hand for others. He worked at John Deere for over forty years, volunteered on the Dyersville Fire Department for 35 years, and was a member of Dyersville Commercial Club Park and Knights of Columbus. Dave had a great sense of humor, always filled with joy and smiles for all.

Survivors include his loving wife of nearly 50 years, Diane; children: Abby (Josh) Moore of Dubuque, Adam (Jennifer) Schuster of Cascade; two grandchildren: Dawson Schuster and Makayla Paar; siblings: Karolyn (Bob) Harwood of Woodbridge, CT, Norma (Frank) Monahan of Washington, D.C., Linda (Gary) Weckwerth of Milwaukee, WI and Dan (Janice) Schuster of Florida; in-laws: Lori (Randy) Digmann of Baraboo, WI, Mark “Lumpy” Tegeler of Dyersville; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother in infancy; parents-in-law, Al and Dorothy Neuhaus; and a sister-in-law, Deb Tegeler.
