Delbert “Bert” Kutsch, 67, of Sherrill, died Sunday, December 29, 2024, at the MercyOne Dubuque Medical Center.

Visitation will be from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at Hoffmann Schneider & Kitchen Funeral Home & Crematory.

The Funeral Service for Bert will be at 10:00 am on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at Hoffmann Schneider & Kitchen Funeral Home & Crematory with Father Tyler Raymond officiating. Burial will be at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Dubuque.

Delbert was born August 4, 1957, in Dubuque, IA, the son of Francis and Delila (Duehr) Kutsch.

Bert most recently worked for Albrecht Concrete and he was a member of the Sherrill Fire Department for over 20 years. Bert loved being outdoors, hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed playing cards, he was a viscous euchre player, he played to win. Most of all, Bert was a very personable but private person. He loved spending time with his nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Survivors include his five brothers, Steven (Cindy) Kutsch of Sherrill; Jerome (Chona) Kutsch of Sherrill; Jeffrey Kutsch of Dubuque; Gregory Kutsch of Sherrill; and Vincent (Annice Parkin) Kutsch of Peosta; one uncle, Bernard (Adeline) Kutsch of Bellevue; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Bert was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Connie Klein.

The family would like to extend a special Thank You to the Sherrill EMTs and the 2nd floor ICU nurses and staff at Mercy for the care given to Bert.
