Donna M. Biermann

Donna Mae Biermann, 83, of Farley, Iowa, passed away Friday, May 1, 2026, at Grand Meadows Senior Living & Healthcare in Asbury, Iowa, where she passed peacefully in her sleep.

Visitation for Donna will be held from 3 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at the Reiff Funeral Home in Farley, Iowa, where a wake service will be held at 2:30 p.m., a CDA Rosary will be held at 4:30 and the Farley American Legion Auxiliary will meet at 5:00 p.m.  Visitation will continue after 9 a.m. on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at the funeral home.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Farley, Iowa with Rev.  Steven Garner Presiding and Rev.Carl Ries Concelebrating.  Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Farley, Iowa.

Donna was born on June 18, 1942, in Dyersville, Iowa, daughter of Cletus and Elizabeth (Ricken) Boge.   She is a graduate of St. Joseph’s school in Farley and was valedictorian of her class.  On May 12, 1962, she was united in marriage to Kenneth Biermann at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Farley, Iowa.

After Donna graduated from High School, she worked at Thermolyne where she met her lifelong friend of 66 years (Barb Schonoff).  After her last child started school, she went to work at Western Dubuque schools for 20 years as a Teacher’s Aide.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.  She enjoyed her family most of all.  They were her pride and joy.  She was always there to support her family at school and sporting events.  She was an avid Iowa Hawkeye, Minnesota Vikings, and Indiana Fever (Caitlin Clark) fan. She loved her time spent boating on the river with family and friends as well as all of their many travels.  She took such great pride in her flowers every spring.   She loved sitting on the back patio enjoying a Southern Comfort Old Fashion or Dr. Pepper from time to time.

She was a member of St. Joseph’s Parish in Farley, the Farley American Legion Auxiliary and the Farley Catholic Daughters of the America’s-Our Presentation Court #1460.

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Biermann of Farley, Iowa; four children, Rhonda (Randy) Bell of Farley, IA, Shelly Schmitt (and friend Mike Eriks) of Davenport, IA, Marty Biermann of Davenport, IA and Kristi (Todd) Kramer of Farley, IA; seven grandchildren, Jeremy, Ben, Trevor Bell, Samantha and Shane Biermann, Collin and Tanner Kramer; seven great grandchildren, Hudson, Genevieve, Susanna and Conrad Bell, Jameson, Norah, Maevyn Bell, and one on the way; a sister Norma Pfohl of Dubuque, IA; one brother, Jerry (Jane) Boge of Farley, IA; her in-laws, Donald (Janet) Biermann of Dubuque, LeRoy (Shirley) Biermann of Peosta, IA, Paul (Cathy) Biermann of Epworth, IA, Marilyn Hawkins of Cascade, IA, and Mark Biermann of Dubuque, IA.

She is preceded in death by her parents; one sister. Carol Boge; mother and father-in-law, Ray and Dorothy Biermann; two brothers-in-law, Pat Pfohl and David Hawkins; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bob and Lavonne Biermann and Dave and Doris Biermann; niece and nephew, Geri Kay Clemen and Dan Biermann.

The family of Donna would like to extend their appreciation and thanks to the Farley Volunteer Ambulance Service, the emergency and medical staff at Unity Point Hospital, Luther Manor, Grand Meadows staff and Hospice of Dubuque for the warm compassionate and loving care of our mother.
