Fredric was born October 26, 1940, in Dubuque, IA, the son of Fredric J. and Alvina (Tinkam) Schaumburg. On August 22, 1964, he married Coralee Schemmel in Dubuque.
He served in the Army National Guard where he was a heavy equipment operator. He then spent his career as a truck driver for St. Regis, Georgia Pacific, and Flexsteel where he proudly logged well over 2 million accident free miles. After retirement, he continued to log miles driving for Runde Chevrolet and Hawkeye Boat Sales.
Fred was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ, Teamsters Union, and the Moose Lodge. He was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers and Dale Earnhardt Sr. True to his profession, Fred had a love for driving, and he and his family enjoyed many trips together across the country. He took great pride in his land, where he and Coralee maintained a large garden, and he especially enjoyed spending time tinkering and working outdoors.
Fred also found joy in life’s simple pleasures, peaceful days spent fishing, playing euchre, and indulging his sweet tooth with Hershey’s chocolate bars and homemade ice cream. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, sharing jokes even in his final days. Never one to pass up a good time, Fred loved gathering at The Depot and spending time with his wife, daughters, and their many friends. Above all, he cherished time with the love of his life, Coralee, and took immense pride in being the father of his three wonderful daughters and the grandpa to seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
