Gregory T. “Greg” Kruser, 62, of Maquoketa, Iowa, died on Monday, June 29, 2026, from injuries received in an automobile accident while vacationing in Alaska.

Greg was born on October 20, 1963, in Lancaster, Wisconsin, to Francis and Norma Jean (Kaiser) Kruser. He grew up in Potosi, Wisconsin, and was a graduate of Potosi High School. The values of hard work, loyalty, and family that shaped his early years remained with him throughout his life.

Greg spent his life staying active and contributing wherever he was needed. He worked a variety of jobs over the years, including farm work while growing up, he worked for the Mueller Pipeline, Walsh’s Hardware Store (which brought him to Maquoketa), and working for his brother in the excavating business. For the past 25 years, he was employed by the Iowa Department of Transportation in the maintenance department.

Greg was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Maquoketa and the Jackson County ATV Club. He enjoyed being part of his community and valued the friendships he made through church, work, and shared interests. He especially enjoyed working on Jeeps in his free time, going on side-by-side rides, hunting, and taking Jeep rides. He also loved socializing with friends and family, and he was always busy doing something. He had a way of making people feel welcome, and he built lasting relationships wherever he went.

Those left to honor his memory include his children, Derek (significant other Emilee) Kruser of Cedar Rapids, IA, and Cody (Carley) Kruser of Anamosa, IA; siblings, Kim (Steve) Flesch of Potosi, WI, Tim (Denice) Kruser of Potosi, WI, Joe (Karri) Kruser of Marion, IA, and Rick (Angie) Kruser of Potosi, WI; and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother Terry.

A funeral mass celebrating his life will be held at 10 A.M., Friday, July 17, 2026, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Maquoketa.  Visitation will be held from 3 to 7 P.M., Thursday, July 16, 2026, at Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa.  Burial will be held at St. Andrew’s Cemetery, Tennyson, Wisconsin.

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, Gregory T. “Greg” Kruser memorial fund has been established.
