Ian D. Luetzelschwab, 7, of Dubuque died Monday, August 24, 2026 surrounded by love. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 pm Thursday at the Egelhof, Siegert and Casper Funeral Home, 2659 Kennedy Road. The funeral service will be 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. The family requests that anyone attending the visitation or funeral wear bright, joyful colors.

Ian was born December 4, 2018 in Iowa City, Iowa, son of Sean and Kristin (Vander Hart) Luetzelschwab.

Ian was a bright light who taught everyone around him the true meaning of joy, unconditional love, and resilience. Though he faced unique challenges, his spirit was feisty and joyful. He communicated volumes with his smiles and giggles. He also had a lifelong love of Mickey Mouse.

He is survived by his parents; two siblings, Ryan and Alexis Luetzelschwab of Dubuque; paternal grandparents, Carl and Vicky Luetzelschwab of Ft. Wayne, IN; maternal grandparents, Bill and Roxanne Brenner of Dubuque; aunts and uncles, David and Kristy Luetzelschwab of Ft. Wayne, IN, Andrew Priebe of Dubuque, Holly and Sawyer Brehm of Peosta, and Austin, Chris and Jesse Brenner all of Dubuque.

He was also survived by several cousins.

The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to everyone at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics, Eisenhower Elementary School, Unified Therapy Services and Keystone AEA for all of their care, concern and support.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Ian Luetzelschwab Memorial Fund.
