Jacqueline Ann Bjerke, 75, of Dubuque and formerly of Woodburn, Oregon, passed away Tuesday August 25, 2026, at Harmony Dubuque.

Private graveside service for immediate family and special friends will be held at Linwood Cemetery. Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, Dubuque, Iowa is assisting the family.

Jacqueline Ann (Jacque) Miller, was born June 8, 1951 in Dubuque, Iowa, daughter of Karl and Lucy Miller (Daughetee).  Jacque graduated from Monticello High School, Monticello, Iowa,  in 1969.   She moved from Iowa to California, and then on to Oregon as her husband moved to further his career, all while raising her two young boys.  As her boys were becoming young men, she attended Chemeketa Community College in Salem Oregon to study Business Administration. She then accepted a job with Siltec USA in Salem, and later worked for the Oregon Department of Transportation, ODOT, from where she retired in the late 90s.

Jacque was married in 1968 to David Jaeger.  They divorced in 1993.  Together they had two sons, Troy (Vickie) Jaeger and Travis Jaeger.  Jacque wed Randal Bjerke in 1997.  They divorced in 2000.  She went on to live an active life, sharing her time between Oregon and California.  Jacque loved the mild weather and constant sunshine in the California Valley, but also treasured her time with her grandchildren in Oregon.  She had many friends, was involved in her church throughout the years, loved good food and good music, as well as enjoyed shopping and experimenting with new clothes, makeup and hairstyles.

As her health declined, she still found joy in some of the same things she did earlier in life, friends, food and music.  Jacque was known for her ‘glow’.  Her face broke into a grin and her blue eyes sparkled at the sight of a familiar face. She always had a smile to share and was quick to laugh or giggle with those that spent time with her. The residents and staff at Harmony became family to her. Special thanks to them for their care, friendship and dedication to her well being. We are especially grateful to the spectacular Donna and Lynn.

Also, special appreciation goes to the staff at Hospice for their tender care. Especially Buffy, Kevin and Lisa.

Those left to honor her memory include her children, Troy (Vickie) Jaeger, Algona, Iowa and Travis Jaeger, Salem Oregon. Sisters Rebecca Graham, Independence, Oregon and Juanita Chapman, Cape Coral, Florida. Brothers Karl (Carol) Miller, Jr., Battleground, Washington and Donald (Tracy) Miller, Salem, Oregon. Grandsons Trevor (Desiree) Jaeger, Taylor Jaeger and Tyler Jaeger, Salem, Oregon. Granddaughters Samantha Jaeger and Emily Jaeger, Salem, Oregon, and 4 great grandchildren, as well as numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.

Jacqueline was preceded in death by her parents Karl and Lucy (Daughetee) Miller, her sister Beverly (Miller) Curiel, and her brothers-in laws Michael Chapman, Russell Graham, Richard Curiel Sr, and Roger.
