Jeffery C. Pope, age 69, of Dubuque passed away on Sunday, September 13, 2026, at home with his loving wife and sister-in-law by his side.  To celebrate Jeff’s life, family and friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at Behr Funeral Home, 1491 Main Street, Dubuque, Iowa.  Committal services will follow  at Dubuque Memorial Gardens with Rev. Robert Gross officiating, where full military rites will be accorded by the Dubuque Marine Corps League.

Jeff was born on September 22, 1956, in Dubuque, the son of Leon A. and Catherine “Kay” (Reinker) Pope.

He attended school in Dubuque and graduated from Hempstead High School Class of 1974.  Jeff was very proud of his service in the U.S. Navy as a corpsman during the Vietnam War.  He met the love of his life, Rhonda S. Glover, and they were married on July 14, 1988.

Jeff recently retired from Steve’s Ace Hardware in Dubuque after 21 years of service to our community.  His loyal customers often sought him out for his sound advice.

He enjoyed spending time in the outdoors hunting and fishing.  Jeff enjoyed traveling and playing with his RC cars.  One of his most treasured moments was flying on the Honor Flight with his long-time friend, Jeff Liddle, whom he enlisted with in the service.

Jeff was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Richard Pope and a great-nephew, Tyler Clauer.
