Sharon McAllister, 84, passed away peacefully on September 13, 2026, in Darlington, WI after years of suffering from dementia.  Sharon was born in Dubuque, IA on May 23, 1942, to Earl and Rita (Lape) McAllister who precede her in death as well as her brothers Patrick and Mike and one sister, Norah McAllister.

Sharon was a quiet woman who tirelessly took care of her mother and sister as well as numerous cats & dogs. She never drove a car, so she walked or rode the bus from the north side of Dubuque to her job at Metz/Bimbo bakery where she retired after 35 years of employment in 2000.  She was an avid reader and collected hundreds of books. She was also a graduate of Wahlert High School.

She is survived by her nephew, Michael McAllister, and his wife Christi of Art, TX. Her two nieces, Lisa and Melanie McAllister, of Taylor, TX who will cherish her memory. There will not be a funeral service, and internment will be at Mt. Calvary, Dubuque alongside her parents.

She will be missed and lovingly remembered by her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, https://www.woundedwarriorproject.org/
