John A. “Harry” Hoppman, age 82, of rural Hazel Green, WI, passed away on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at home surrounded by his family.

A private family service will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2026 at the Miller Funeral Home in East Dubuque, IL, followed by a Celebration of Life from 4 to 7 p.m. at PJ’s in Kieler, WI.

John was born on September 4, 1944, in Dubuque, IA, the son of Philip J. and Genevieve T. (Wiegmann) Hoppman. He was a self-employed flooring installer for his entire career.

John loved to socialize and was known for his story telling and jokes. He enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, and a good game of euchre. John loved to cook and will be remembered for his barbeque and cooking talents.  He will be greatly missed by all.

Surviving is his partner, Sheryl Tomkins; three children, Lori Hoppman of McFarland, WI, John A. (Dedra) Hoppman of Greenville, WI, and Shannon Hoppman of Green Bay, WI; Six grandchildren, Brandon (Amber), Nick, Cole, Jaelyn, Braylie and Layna; two great-grandchildren, Carson and Dawson; five step-children, Rob (Jody) Tomkins, Randy (Carolyn) Tomkins, Rick (Tracey) Tomkins, Russ (Erin) Tomkins and Ryan (Teri) Tomkins; 15-Step-grandchildren, Jason (Melissa), Jenna, Kenzie, Mallory, Quinn, Shealyn (Ben), Kyler, Amber, Cody (Taylor), Brett, Ella, Tanner, Aubrey, Samantha and Payton; and numerous nieces,  nephews, and great nieces and great nephews.

John was preceded in death by his parents Philip and Genevieve, his siblings, Lloyd (Virginia) Hoppman, Jim (Velma) Hoppman, Paul (Jeanette and Calista) Hoppman, Tom (Doris) Hoppman, Charles (Phyllis) Hoppman, and Mary Ann (Robert) Tuegel.
